As time goes on, Maddy finds herself wondering if two million dollars will be enough to cover the cost of repairing a broken heart. But Mr. Thorne may have yet another secret in store...

    I really did try to get attached to this one but I never did. Are times some parts I feel were a bit too rushed and gap'd; especially on the sense of explaining their current emotion or even conversations. I won't bother to read more of this series. I feel this book could of been longer and provided more details to make it flow smoother. Thank you though for the read. :D

    What I appreciated most about this series is that the author was realistic about the characters. They were normal with flaws, they argued but did it without big breakups every time. It was refreshing in a romantic novel to read characters that stayed together through various reveals as they got to know each other. I did want a few more chapters at the end, but still enjoyed the entire series.

    I enjoyed Ms. Marchande's His Secretary Undone which is why I picked up this freebie. Bad idea. Its free for a reason. The story is not well paced or well mapped. The characters are supposed to be strong yet vulnerable, but they come across as immature and cartoonish. It's as if the author wrote what she THOUGHT people wanted to read instead of what she wanted to write. Boring and confusing is not what I want to read. The storyline and characters were all there waiting for her to take them to an interesting place, but instead she went down the same old path. And she didn't take a copy editor with her (there's an entire scene where a minor character has a different name!) Free or not, I don't recommend this book.
